Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

This gorgeous painting was initially created with an acrylic underpainting. I then collaged over the poppy blossoms and a portion of the background with handpainted found papers- including musical sheets, sewing patterns, and gift tissues- leaving some areas of the underpainting peeking through.
I then digitized the image to create a softer effect.
My most recent work draws more inspiration from color and texture than distinct subject matters, and my objective remains to imbue my canvasses with a sense of emotion. Through the intricate texture and vibrant color in my pieces, I aim to create a visceral response in the viewer; my hope is that the viewer may connect with them emotionally rather than through conscious, deliberate effort. In this way, viewers create their own interpretations through this initial connection, and the narrative of the piece becomes secondary. I was born and raised in Southeastern Michigan. A few years after earning my BFA with Honors from Eastern Michigan University, I began a mural and decorative painting company which allows me to create beautiful...
